Rino Sugioka
Policy Advisor
Rino is a Policy Advisor in E3G's Fossil Fuel Transition team.
Specifically, Rino’s work supports the strategic and technical assistance advice E3G provides as a member of the secretariat of the Energy Transition Council and delivering the ETC’s Rapid Response Facility.
Rino previously worked at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a programme officer in the Hokkaido office, where she was responsible for various capacity-building programmes for counterparts particularly relating to environmental issues as part of JICA’s technical cooperation. She also worked at a local environment foundation in Hokkaido and in the private sector in Tokyo.
Rino has recently concluded an MSc in Energy and Climate Policy from Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex, and has a Bachelor’s in Humanities (art history) from Ritsumeikan University in Japan. Rino enjoys hiking, trail running, and cooking Japanese food.
