Laila Kanji
Senior Policy Advisor
Laila is a Senior Policy Advisor with E3G’s Political Economy and Governance team in London. She is supports the development and delivery of E3G’s political economy strategies, partnerships and initiatives to drive effective, rapid and just climate action and transitions.
Working with and building on E3G’s political economy mapping methodology (PEMM), she contributes to the design and development of the Centre for Political Economy of Climate Change (CPECC) to support climate action globally.
Prior to joining E3G, she held various roles with the UK Government’s Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), G7/G20 Research Groups, UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Bank in climate innovation and sustainability.
Laila holds a Master’s degree in Global Energy and Sustainability from Sciences Po, Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
In her free time, Laila enjoys the Japanese art of kintsugi and is an avid ice hockey fan.
