Kavya Singhal
Policy Advisor
Kavya Singhal is a Policy Advisor in E3G's Global Clean Power Diplomacy team based in India. She supports E3G’s work on India’s coal to clean transition.

Kavya’s work focuses on analysing and developing just and low-carbon energy transition strategies for India, while engaging with diplomatic actors, multilateral development organisations, national and sub-national governments, and civil society networks, including through E3G’s work supporting the COP26 Energy Transition Council.
Prior to joining E3G, Kavya worked as a researcher at the National Foundation for India. Her work focused on just transitions in India, looking at the phase-down of coal under India’s UNFCCC commitment to achieve net zero by 2070, and designing pathways to support the most vulnerable and marginalised communities affected. She co-authored a report entitled “Socio-economic impacts of coal transition in India”.
She also has expertise in using data-driven approaches to generate insights on developmental issues like climate resilience, urban and rural livelihoods, education, and health.
Kavya has a BA honours in Economics from the University of Delhi and a Masters in Economics, specialising in urban development, from the Symbiosis School of Economics, Pune.
Kavya enjoys listening to classical music and ghazals/poems in her free time. She is a trained Kathak dancer (an Indian classical dance form), and has a deep interest in learning about different cultures and history. She also enjoys cooking, travelling, and reading outside of work.
