Ignacio works as Senior Policy Advisor on EU Climate Foreign Policy within the Climate Diplomacy and Geopolitics team.
Ignacio works towards shaping how the EU and its member states effectively leverage their climate action internationally to accelerate the global climate transition. This involves working across different venues and in cooperation with a broad range of communities, devising common strategies and engaging with relevant decision-makers. His area of work spans from traditional EU climate diplomacy to new forms of partnerships and cooperation that mainstream climate goals into broader foreign policy.
Previously Ignacio worked as a Researcher on Trade & Climate policies within E3G’s Clean Economy team. Before joining E3G he worked as a research assistant on EU climate policy at the European Policy Centre and as a trainee for the EU High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell. He also has humanitarian fieldwork experience in Lebanon and Burkina Faso.
Ignacio holds a Master´s in EU International Relations & Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges) and a BA in European Social & Political Studies from UCL (London). Ignacio’s passions always bring him back to the Mediterranean Sea, where he loves to scuba dive, windsurf and sail. He is also a keen cook and an amateur history buff and loves to watch and play football as well.
