Helen Civil
Director of Communications
Helen is Director of Communications for E3G. She leads strategic communications with a specialist team supporting communications and marketing across E3G.
Helen has worked across a wide portfolio of communications, marketing and broadcasting, with stints at BBC, ITV, and Ofcom, the regulator for the communications sector. As a change and engagement consultant she has also worked with many different major national and international organisations. In the last ten years, her focus has shifted to critical infrastructure resilience, sustainability, and the built environment, particularly cities, working in multiple roles as a consultant for Arup and others including for international development, community engagement, and leading various comms teams and projects. Most recently, she led communications for The Resilience Shift, setting up the first ever COP Resilience Hub. She joined E3G initially as Director of Communications for the hosted Secretariat of the Transition Plan Taskforce, and continues to steer strategic comms for international financial reform, finance and resilience, and public banks work. Helen’s BA was originally in languages, complemented by an MBA and professional marketing qualifications, and more recently studies in urban resilience, sustainable finance, and business sustainability. Helen has four children, lives in London and enjoys sailing, writing and music.
