Genady Kondarev is facilitating the adoption of more ambitious climate policies in the region and accelerating the fossil fuels exit. He is working to improve the cooperation between the stakeholders in Poland, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
One of his major pledges is to pave the way for an optimal outcome during the review of the National Energy And Climate Plans (NECPs) in the region. Genady Kondarev is also a keen promoter of the significance of affordable and sustainable heating and cooling as a key to ensure wellbeing, energy security and climate neutral energy use.
In the past, he has worked both on the side of the business as a clean energy consultant and as an NGO campaigner advocating under Za Zemiata – Friends of the Earth Bulgaria for more ambitious climate and energy policies including developing a strategy for the coal exit of Bulgaria. He has been one of the main initiators of the clean heating investment programmes gearing up in major municipalities in Bulgaria.
Genady is trained an Economist, holding degrees in International Trade and in Finance, which he is constantly building on with new interdisciplinary knowledge.
Gardening and beekeeping are the hobbies that define his personality the most, as well as cooking home grown, healthy and seasonal food. He also likes to roam in the wilderness hiking mountains or coastal lines.
