Ellie Belton leads E3G’s work on climate change and trade. She engages with NGO partners, industrial stakeholders and policymakers on better aligning global trade and climate agendas to identify new opportunities for delivering climate ambition through trade policy and investment tools.

Before joining E3G, Ellie worked in the UK government where she delivered a climate change strategy for the Department of Business and Trade and led the strategy team responsible for electricity market reform at the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. Previously, Ellie worked at The Economist Intelligence Unit and Goldman Sachs.
Ellie holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from the University of Oxford, where she specialised in political and sociological theory.
